Ode To Ma SSCeans...Hi everyone, First & foremost, I would like to thank everyone before I officially leave (my temp assignment with Singapore Sports Council ends in Feb, if u don't know already). Have to say that I initially felt quite out of place, being the only temp EA with just an O Level & a mere ITE qualification... compared to those who've been through A Levels... diploma & stuff. So I feel rather priviledged to be given this chance to work with you people on Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon '07 & I never thought that the experience would feel so good. Yup, after all the tears, sweat & sleepless nights we finally made it :). For those I closely interact/work/makan kakis with, here's my special odes & thanks... Rubin; Thank you for putting up with me & my many commitments outside work. Though you have had your bad days & busy schedules you have been patient enuff to accomodate me. And I really admire how patiently you handled disgruntled participants during the Race Entry Pack Collection (well someone told me that I was hostile to a couple who die-die want to change t-shirt size, haha). I could never be as patient as you, gosh.Rakel; Stay elegant always. I've always loved your cool composure. Yazed; I haven't thanked you for the cute X'mas prezzie :). You're one of the most jovial & friendly boss to have around anywhere. Stanli; Hey, you. Yes, you. By the time u get back to office, I'll be long gone. The first thing I would like to tell you is, I'm sorry. For the little war we had before you left for your reservist. I really didn't mean anything when I supposedly used 'that tone' on you & like I said I was preoccupied with something else in my head else when you called me over. So I would like to apologise for making you pissed with the way I talked. Still despite all the minor frictions we had while working together, it was good while it lasted. U're the most hardworking & the most 'kanchong spider' guy I've ever seen. Just learn to relax a little & work will be less stressful for you in future mmkay? Melissa Pei; Hey, gurl... looks like you're looked upon as the 'welfare taker' for part-timers/interns huh? Haha... Well, thank you so much for caring about my welfare & doing the little things for me when I was a newb (you should know what you did for me). And I really enjoyed the funny conversations we had in the cab after OT :) Prissy; Yo! You too. Thanks for all the hospitality you've shown me (and remember the email help you wanted to render me when we were eating out with Mel Leong at 7-11? Hmmm... but I never got 'round to it). I so appreciate that effort. Megan; You already left before me. But still I'm writing this to you. You're the BEST chat/makan/relax kaki I've ever had in SSC next to the intern before me, Melissa Leong. I miss you lah. Melissa Leong; *Pokes & points up*. Haha. And thanks for all your guidance before you left & AFTER you left. Sorry if I initially bother you too much with my phone calls rgding registration. Stay in touch. Kai Long & Wai Leong; Certified 'Sports Events Div Clowns'! Thanks for the laughs & brightening up my lunches with you people. Wish you guys all the best after you leave too. Shawn; We haven't really worked closely but I always find you a little awe-inspiring. Melissa (Leong) once told me you're a very hardworking person, so that must be it isn't it? Sheila; Stay loud & happy! I like your tough character & it's something I've always wanted to be. Nathaniel & Cindy; Nat, thanks for the prata treat at Boat Quay & the little conversations we had the night before SCSM07. You always keep your cool & I like that. Cindy, you're very sweet & your humility amazes me at all times. And thanks for being the only SE who's always willing dine out with us temp EAs & the interns. Heeee.... Christina; Next to Nat, I really wonder how you've always managed to keep your cool & be calm even after TONS of work have been piling on you. Another person that I look up to & I'll take a leaf out of your book wherever I work. PeiLing; If UK's got their own SUPER NANNY on tv, you'll be Singapore's very own SUPER AUNTIE! You're really like Doraemon you know? You have everything in your bag to save your life :D. Thanks for always attempting to shelter me with your umbrella under the hot sun (hehehe though I usually don't bother about whether I'm turning black). But all in all, I can tell that you're a very trustworthy person & who likes to help people in need. Please keep in touch ok? Lee Huang; Thanks for being the sweet, kind lady who always shares her personal kettle with me when I'm down with instant noodles. Haha.Chi Hua; A robust & one of the most outstanding volunteers at REPC despite her size :). Thanks a million for assisting me at Helpdesk. Stay smiley always. Alice; My stay in SSC new office is too short for me to get to know you better. Still, I would like to thank you for just being my pretty cute-voiced 'neighbour'. Kak Faridah; This goes out to you too, I have just gotten to know you 2 weeks before I left. Thanks for the little conversations & whatever advise regarding my daughter. I wish you & your family in good health always & cheers to our 5 year olds... :) So what am I up to after SSC? I've been offered a position as Helpdesk Engineer at ST Electronics & will commence on 1st Feb. Initially I was required start early Jan but I felt it was too soon to leave as I still had post-event loose ends to tie. Lucky for me, they eventually allow me to start in Feb instead. So, new year, new job, new environment, new people for me, some complicated IT stuff for me to learn... and I'm nervous & excited at the same time. For the rest I didn't mention, a big thank you for the great working environment. With all my heart, I wish you all success in your endeavours & do say hi when we cross paths again :)Yours sincerely,Nur Sari Ratna Binte Mohammad Aliasaka Anna Mohd
